Here is the list of Presidents during the game(does not tell) if Railway Valley is in the United States of America:

When the game starts in 1800, Thomas(Tom) Jefferson is President
When the larger steam locomotives came out in 1850, Millard Fillmore just began being president(Zachary Taylor just left office, because he died, in 1850).
When the Tire Production Factory opens, Rutherford Hayes just starts his THIRD(3rd) year as president.
When the Petrochemical Plant opens, Woodrow Wilson is in his 3rd year in his SECOND(2nd) TERM!
When Diesel locomotives are introduced, Harry Truman begins his second term.
When the Electronics Factory comes out in 1980, James(Jimmy) E. Carter is in his 3rd year as President.
I got bankrupt at this time, so, I hope this helps people a little

Now heres a new one today:
Don't you hate it when theres ONE switch that messe sup a train and you have to reset it as the train backs up, and then another train appears, then ANOTHER one?My solution is to crash the trains.Its costly, but it gets rid of 2 of 3 trains. I've only finished game once. Last locomotive is Diesel-Electric, and it looks like one the Bullet Train.

this is a nice game.but i've not gone beyond 3G

I was constantly being beat by the game, ending in negative scores, until I started building circuits. After that, my results improved so that I've never gone into deficit.

The Railroad Valley game is sort of addicting after a while, and it is fun to build railroad tracks, switches and other stuff. If only there could be a way for me to build a brigde over a lake when I have the settings to medium or hard. That would be awesome, but I guess that can't happen. There are annoying things in the game though, like when your train going to its destination, another train is coming out of that destination, causing collisions. That is one negative comment from the game that I have.

What a great game. I do find it hard to break 500000 regularly, maybe managing it once every 15-20 games.Is there a tactic for the really high scores? Is the central roundabaout with triangular junctions round the edge the ONLY way of getting the higher scores? Thanks.

I love the game and always try to get a high score, but even getting 500,000 is very hard (maybe 1 in 15 games or more). Any advice on getting the really high scores? Is the central circle approach rwally teh only one that can work?

taht's nice, but, and it is a big but, the software is very poor... popup windows bother s oftem during play, commends stacks often. Lookinf for the 2nd version...

I am very excited that I have found your post because I have been searching for some information about it for almost three hours. You have helped me a lot and reading this your article I have found much new and useful information about this subject.

I play it since months so not a challenge anymore. In change it becomes more and more relaxing. However I would be happy if the creator would improve it to make it a challenge again.

Great Game!!
Started playing again after about a year.
I try to build as little track as possible for a high score, so I make a kind of circle for all trains to use. Each of the stations is connected to that circle with a triangle track. One of the swiches of those triangles is always as close as possible to that station, so I can swich at the last moment, reversing an incoming train back to the circle to avoid collision with an outgoing train. This way I spend about 50.000 to 60.000 for all tracks and demolishion and I can bring in about 56 to 58 trains max.

For the fun of laying tracks it is a great game, period.
For the fun of competing there are two major flaws I think.
1. It takes about 10 tries to find one landscape that does not block the entrance to one of the stations with a building ore a lake.
2. The way I play, the game takes about 10% skill, and 90% chance, which is not nice for competing.

One idea for a next version of the game would be to have (2-track-)stations appearing at random places during the game in stead of the disasters (maintainance) appering randomly, putting more emphasis on the skill of building track, rather then chance.

Some parts of the game are unrealistic and annoying which are peoples comments have mentioned but it's a damn good game.

This is an AMAZING game!!! One of the annoyances, however, I endure while playing the game is how the cursor is never lined up with the track placer.

Its annoying when the trains don't get enough time to get to the destination before the next train comes out. I get constant crashes because of this. Also, how long does it take the trains to move. mine took 6 years to mke a delivery...

I like this game but there are some bugs.

*Trains are deleted (by earthquake) or destroying andjaced time tile to train
*When new industry appear on place where is your railroad, it create unbuildable unswitchable rail switch
*Trains sometimes lost vagoons on switches

Great game but some of the newer newspaper ads cause my mouse to disappear! The problematic ads are the ones with mouse interaction, like a moving gunsite. Once the mouse is gone it's almost unplayable.

With the casteles and windmills, I think the game is set in Luxembourg.
